CHARITIES FOR 2008
ONCE again, it's time to choose which charity we are going to support with our fundraising for academic year 2008-2009.
Listed below, you will find 7 charities - all of them small, none of them well-known - that have been nominated by members of our School community as being worthy of our support next year. It's a difficult choice - they all do wonderful and necessary work - but if, having read through the details, you would like to express a preference (or you would simply like further information), please email either Louisa Barham louisa.barham@btopenworld.com or Lil Wiener marianna@dwla.co.uk by Thursday 22 May.
The chosen charities (see below for fuller information) are:
Charity no 1 Old Macdonald's Farm - an HIV/AIDS project in Zambia
Charity no 2 The Fred Foundation - working with autistic children
Charity no 3 Transplant Sport UK - coming to terms with organ donation
Charity no 4 Sparrow Schools - helping underprivileged children in S Africa
Charity no 5 Special Baby Care Unit - St Thomas's Hospital
Charity no 6 Cecily's Fund - educating orphaned children in Zambia
Charity no 7 Springfield Community Flat - community regeneration in Lambeth
The 2 charities that gain the most votes will be put to a final vote at the next Parents Association meeting on the 3rd June; the winner will be announced in the 6th June Newsletter.
