To the Lower School
Children enter the Lower School in the September following their fourth birthday. Entry is by personal showaround and interview with the parents during the Hilary term a year before a child is due to start, followed by a readiness assessment of the child in the Michaelmas term.

We take equal numbers of boys and girls; siblings of children already within the school have priority. We do not select on the basis of academic potential, and accept children with a range of abilities. The assessment is designed solely to ensure that a child is truly ready for school.

Children may be placed on the Provisional List Form (for which there is no charge) up to three and a half years before they are due to start. The Provisional list can either be obtained by downloading
from here , or from the Registrar, Mrs Goddard, on 0208 682 8889.

After the personal showaround and interview, parents are invited to put their child's name down on a Registation List within a fortnight of their visit if they think that Broomwood Hall would be the right school for their child.  A fee of £100 is payable for this.

Once all the children have been assessed, places are offered in the Michaelmas term.

To the Upper School
The majority of girls entering the Upper School do so from the Lower School, for which no test is required. However, girls joining the school from outside will need to complete a Provisional List Form (available by downloading from here , or by calling the Registrar, Mrs Goddard, on 0208 682 8889) and return it to the school. Entrance is by a personal interview with the Head of the Upper School and a short test, designed to ensure that girls are of a sufficient academic standard to cope with the demands that will be made of them.
