Awards and Responsibilities

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school. We carefully monitor the awards given out and make sure no girl goes through a year without achieving a prize or certificate for something deserved.

Each half term we have award assemblies when we hand out cups and certificates for achievement and effort across a variety of subjects and skills and each term we hold an even bigger award assembly. Each academic year ends with a wonderful prize-giving service in our church where we celebrate the achievements of our leavers.

We help to prepare our pupils for senior school by awarding them with positions of responsibility. All girls in Class 8 become prefects with various duties and privileges and our Class 6 leavers also have the chance of taking a title such as Maths Prefect, Vice House Captain or Deputy Head Girl. The girls all help the teachers to run elements of the school and mature very quickly with the responsibility.

We have a school council with representatives from each form from Classes 4 to 8. Our Head Girl helps to run this and the girls have the chance to influence how the school is run, from the menus at lunch time to helping the school to be more environmentally-friendly.
