The Upper school is deliberately small allowing us to give maximum individual attention to each girl. Entry to the school is normally at the age of 8; the curriculum is either a 3 or a 5 year one, depending on the age at which a girl is sitting for Common Entrance.
There are five year levels: Classes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 with two or three classes at Class 4, 5 and 6 levels and one each at Class 7 and 8. Girls taking 11+ Common Entrance (usually around half) leave from Class 6, whilst those taking 13+ Common Entrance stay to complete Class 7 and 8.
Our aim is to provide an unrivalled excellence of education, both inside and outside the classroom. Academic success is measured in terms of the Common Entrance and scholarship exam results, but we seek to give girls the widest possible education: achievement and excellence instilled during the prep school years remains with the girls into adulthood. Over the years Broomwood Hall has gained a reputation second to none amongst senior schools for sending them confident, happy, well-rounded girls; that, most of all, is what they are looking for.
